To The Girl Who Doesn’t Look Like K- Stew

imma line

Dear Girl,

I’m sorry it took me so long to write this. I suppose it took me a while to figure out exactly what I wanted to say. By now, you might not even be a girl any more. You may have already graduated college . You may have gotten married. Maybe you’re about to start a family.

Dear Girl,

You are beautiful.

Let me elaborate.

I never really noticed how important it was to look like Kristen Stewart in the Twilight community (though it was all around me) until a friend came to me upset, explaining to me that people were only considered “pretty” if they looked like Kristen Stewart. I had began to notice she was right. Girls would post pictures of themselves – even videos – asking “Do I Look Like Kristen Stewart?”.

In selfies, girls would slightly distort their faces to change their facial features to have similarities of Kristen Stewart. We were all so obsessed looking at a picture and trying to see that face, that we completely overlooked the fact that this person was actually making a weird and unflattering face.

You don’t have to look like Kristen Stewart to be beautiful. Be you. Do your makeup the way you want to wear it, throw your hair up (or leave it down) the way it feels comfortable to you, and when your taking a  photo, show YOUR smile, not someone else’s.

Anyone can cosplay. By all means, have a Bella day. Wear her clothes, do your hair and your makeup, but don’t lose you. At the end of the day, take it all off, wash your face, and look in the mirror at your reflection – because if you are so set on looking like someone else, one day, you will look in the mirror and realize your reflection is not your own. It’s not what its supposed to be, and you may not be able to get back the reflection you’ve lost.

Dear Girl,

Love yourself, love your face, and always remember to love your twilight partner in crimes’ as well!

Love Always –

I.B.C

Rare Items: 2) The American Rag Thermal

ima moon

Now I know I have blogged about this item before, but seeing as how it still is fairly rare, why not add it to the list! The American Rag Thermal has been sought after by many a Twilight clothing collector since the Twilight film released in theaters. Bella Swan was seen wearing this thermal when she introduces Edward Cullen to Charlie, and wore it under her jacket throughout the baseball scene.

I’m going to be completely and 100% honest. This top has gone for over $1,000.00 on eBay. Keeping that in mind while I tried this on for the first time lead to nothing but disappointment. Let me elaborate.

Way back when Twilight first came out and I started the blog, I (obviously) did a lot of research on Bella’s clothes, the brands etc. The one top I would always see come across on forums or in conversation was this infamous green top with adorable looking “print”. I’m not quite sure why this top in particular became a “thing” where everyone had to have one, but the American Rag popped up more on people’s wanted lists than her BB Dakota jacket (before it was rereleased). Naturally this intrigued me. As years passed by the American Rag grew in demand, but the amount available dwindled. About two and a half years ago the top reached its all time high. It was a once in a billion chance for this thermal to pop up on eBay and when it did, it sold for an amount too painful to admit.

Jumping ahead to when I tried this thermal on for the first time.

The term thermal in my opinion is used loosely. The “print” on the fabric is actually shear. You definitely need to wear a tank top underneath otherwise you’ll be getting a breeze and someone will be getting a show!wpid-storageemulated0PicturesIbc-Blogging-photos2013-12-30-09.18.17-1.jpg.jpg
The actual feel for the fabric is delightfully soft and the pouch in the front breaks up what would be a plain-looking shirt with a pattern.

The hood is probably my favorite part. It balances out the pouch in the front and gives your profile a slimming effect.

Over all, I love this thermal. I am incredibly thankful to my friend for gifting it to me (she found it for $20.00!) and I consider  myself incredibly lucky! That being said… in a world where I had not received this as a gift…  this girl’s wallet is a bit too small to love it for $1,000.00!

“Stephenie Meyer DAY”

Hello everyone! I wanted to take a moment and post about the event that started it all. If you frequent this blog, then the Stephenie Meyer Day events are no stranger to you. For those of you unfamiliar with it, This 3.5 day festival takes place in Forks, Washington, and commemorates the author, and celebrates everything twilight. From tours to vendors to twilight events, this celebration is held throughout the whole town, and definitely gives you your twilight fix!

The reason I hold this festival so dear to my heart is because I along with many others participate in the Stephenie Meyer Day Cast. That’s right! Stephenie Meyer Day has its own cast that participates in events and takes photos with the guests!  This year the Stephenie Meyer Day cast has many of the characters you are familiar with, and they are very eager to meet each and every one of you, but I wont spoil the surprise just yet!

Bella Swan’s BD2 ‘Black’ Jacket with Gold Buttons

After being in complete shock from the final installment of the Twilight Saga, it was time to get down to business and find some Breaking Dawn part 2 wardrobe! I had noticed Bella in specific had so many jackets this film, no doubt thanks to Alice Cullen . One jacket in specific people had been trying to spot prior to the release of the film was a black jacket with golden studded buttons seen here:

My good friend Vee, creator and moderator of IBC’s sister blog, Go Ask Alice Cullen, had traveled here to the US to visit and see the movie with me! of course she wanted to hit up all the malls in the area (what Alice cosplayer wouldn’t?). We walked by H&M, J. Crew, and just about any other store you could think of that has had clothes featured in the saga. We had nearly walked passed Banana Republic when she decided she wanted t go in. I followed, spacing out, knowing anything I saw would be out of my price range for the month, and then locked my eyes on a jacket on the end of a sale rack….. This jacket –

This jacket is the Banana Republic Belted Pocket coat. It retailing in the store for $130.00, I was able to get it for $60.00 on the clearance rack, and the SKU number is 416134-00-1

Vee and I were able to match up all the seams and buttons to those on Bella’s coat, even the buckles on the collar. The only thing I’m still a bit stumped about is the color.

The color of this jacket is technically a navy blue though it could pass as a dark charcoal. the collar on the inside is made of a corduroy which would explain the contrast of the two “blacks” on Bella’s jacket, the actual coat looking black and the collar looking an even darker black. On this coat, it is a maroon color.

A couple of different theories I have:

– this is the jacket, just shot in a dark lighting

– this is the jacket but they dyed the collar black because the maroon was too distracting and eye-catching for the scene (They have altered clothing in the past)

– the navy jacket with the maroon collar this years jacket, and Kristen Stewart’s jacket was actually last years jacket. I was told, last year they had this jacket in black, this year they did not. I tried finding picture of it i black, but unfortunately I could not find the exact jacket in black. I did however find black jackets made by Banana Republic similar to the make of this one, but instead of the gold buttons, they were silver. I wonder if last years buttons were silver on this coat as well.

Although the colors are questionable, I believe this is the same make and brand as the jacket Bella is wearing in Breaking Dawn part two. I will however, keep an opened mind to anyone who thinks they have spotted the jacket with another brand!

Let me know what you all think!

Say Thank You!

I cannot begin to explain how much the Twilight films have impacted my life, and if you know a little bit about my work in the Twilight world, you understand where I’m coming from! I can still remember the first time I saw Twilight. My hair was hardly touching my shoulders, and I thought wearing a maroon hoodie with a white pair of knitted gloves could pass for the van crash scene…

Now I sit in front of my laptop, the same laptop I started blogging with those couple of years ago, reminiscing about my Twilight movie experiences, and how they got me where I am today. I have a huge extended Twilight family that ranges across the world.  I have traveled many places and got to work with some amazing actors and actresses. I got to BE Bella Swan.

My favorite Twilight Saga moment (and probably most memorable) is when I went to see New Moon (for the 3rd time) with my mother and sister in-law. I was super excited to show them the movie because they hadn’t seen it yet, my sister in-law newly curious about Twilight. The theater was generally quiet, and we enjoyed the movie. Just at the end, when Edward proposed to Bella and the screen went to black, a very large man shot up from his seat right behind us and yelled “Oh hell no!” at the screen and walked out disappointed Bella couldn’t fit in a response. I would have to say that moment made the movie even better.

Seeing as how the newest and final movie to the Twilight Saga is upon us, I thought it a fun idea to write our most memorable Twilight saga films moments, and post them in celebration, a way to thank everyone involved for bringing something so wonderful to life, and impacting our lives as much or as little as it has!

Starting now, I will be accepting emails with your name, where you are from, and your story! I will post them here on the blog, and if we get enough stories, perhaps we can share them with Summit themselves! I will accept emails up and through the 23rd of November!

Please send your story! We’d love to hear it, and we’d all love to let Summit know how thankful we are!
